What does it mean to be born again?

Ask a religious person how someone is born again and you will get a very strange answer indeed. An answer that is not taught in the Scriptures. Most people think that all you have to do to be born again is to be baptized, especially as an infant, be confirmed, and learn how to recite the Apostles` creed plus get a certificate!! All this is done in your Church by your priest! So as I analyzed this I came to the conclusion that the issue comes down to this; Is being born again the work of God alone, or it is the work of man namely through religious leaders performing rituals on a person? Jesus speaking to Nicodemus was very clear that regenerating of the heart is strictly the work of the Spirit of God. He said that the Holy Spirit of God is like the wind, blowing wherever he wishes and that is how regeneration (Being Born again) happens- John 3:8. It seems to me that these People want, and they have tried to rob God of his glory by usurping his authority. They want to do his work for Hi...

Jesus, the Man who borrowed everything.

Borrowing is not the preferred way of life for any human beings on the face of this earth. People under normal circumstances would not prefer to borrow from others because it is a very inconveniencing thing to the borrower and the borrowee (I hope that word even exists, but if not, allow me now to invent it). It wounds one`s pride because it displays them as lacking something to the other party. It shows our vulnerability. Because of this am surprised to learn that when God was here, He actually borrowed everything to live among us as a Human. Jesus, the word of God who was with God from the beginning of time borrowed Mary`s womb when he was coming to Earth from Heaven`s throne. He borrowed human flesh so he could look like us and be just as ordinary as anybody else. He borrowed a human ancestry through King David so he could have a right to the kingship of Israel. He borrowed a stable in Bethlehem in which to be born.  He borrowed a Human Family to be raised like any chil...

…..and forever Glorified.

All believers in Christ are a work in progress. We are pilgrims on a journey we are sure will end well. The reason we are sure that it will end well is because it is not by our might but by the strength of Him who loved us, died for us and begot us into this living hope. He will not fail; actually he never fails at anything. He all always accomplishes his purposes. He has already decided what He will do with us and is now working on us. We are clay and He is the potter working with clay. He already has the blueprint in his mind of what the clay will be. When Andrew brought his brother Simon to Jesus - John 1:41 -42, Jesus looked at Simon ounce and he decided what he would do with him, what he would make him into. Jesus told him “You are Simon, but for now on you will be called Peter” which to be translated a little stone. Peter would be a stone to be reckoned with, very hard and precise, he would be very effective. We see here the lord deciding what he would make Peter into. But when o...

So what is so great about Christianity?

I wonder what you would say if why you were asked why you were a Christian. Let me actually ask you; Are you a Christian because you were born in it or you are a Christian because it is true? That is the big question that I like to ask people sometime. I actually normally ask people why they are in their religions and you should try it out some day too! How one answers that question influences how they view other religions. If you say you are a Christian because you were born in it then for you Christianity is just a matter of taste and you are not bothered by what other people believe. But if you are a Christian because it is true, then the result is you believe it is not only true for you but for everybody else and that is going to get you out of your comfort zone in order to try to make it known to others. I for one am a Christian because it is true. Christianity is the only reasonable faith one can have. I think that all other religions are either blind faith (belief without evi...

So you believe the Apostle`s creed....guess who else does?

Many people think that what makes one a Christian is knowing certain things about God. They are confident that having the right kind of information is enough to guarantee one heaven. I heard one person say: that we always say the apostles` creed every time I go to Church on Sunday. Of course am a Christian! So according to this thinking as long as you know the right things, as along as you have crammed the right things and you can say them the moment you are asked, you can be sure of heaven just as a little Baby left at home with a maid can be sure of breast milk as soon as it`s mother returns from work. The problem is that the step brother of Jesus, even James wrote in his epistle that those who believe in God do well but he also added that the Devils believe too but not only do they believe but shudder- James 2:19.  This means that just knowing God exists and believe certain things about him only put you in the same category with devils. I am very confident that the de...

Religious but born again!!!

I was having a conversation with my workmates about Christianity and we were discussing what it means to be born again. Now most of these were mainly of the Catholic religion and only one was Muslim. In the midst of the conversation on one made an erroneous comment which was seconded by another that one could be born again within their individual religion. So basically what they were saying is that you can be born again within Catholicism or Islam. Actually this is not the first time I have heard this. The first time I had this was when I was witnessing to someone who told me that they were born again but within the Catholic religion. So you will hear things like am born again but catholic or Jehovah`s witness or whatever other religion there is. So having pondered this I concluded that there were basically two reason for this trend; First, these people are probably being told by their religious leaders that you can actually be born again but still remain in your religion. Basical...
