The folly of the Prosperity gospel
I have just finished reading around to acquaint myself with the greatest plague ravaging contemporary evangelical Christianity to-date, which is the prosperity Gospel. Or what is also known as the wealth and health gospel or the blab it and grab it gospel. During my reading, I came across what I think is something fundamental that we should always point out when refuting this heresy. And I will now proceed to tell you… The fundamental flaw of the prosperity gospel is that it promises things it cannot deliver. It promises things that have only been designed by God for another life - in eternity. You see wealth, health and prosperity are ingredients of the forth coming Kingdom of our Lord Jesus Christ – millennial Kingdom/1000 year reign. This millennial kingdom of Christ will be a kingdom where righteousness and peace dwell. There will be no disease, no evil, no pain and suffering and no poverty. Isaiah the prophet speaking of this Kingdom said that “The wolf will live with the lam...
