True Christianity is a fight.

I my personal devotions for the whole of this month and definitely into October, am reading about holiness the journey has been interesting so far. I have learnt a lot about a Christian`s pursuit for holiness. There is nothing as important for today`s Christians to understand as this; that personal holiness is as important as personal hygiene and smartness. It is interesting to note Christian care more about how they smell and look before the world and church members than how they look before God. There is a serious lack of holiness in the contemporary Christian church today. People are very lazy when it comes to the pursuit of holiness. Most people are not even aware that we are in a fight. Many think that as long as am saved, that is; Jesus is my Lord and Savior, and my name is written in the lamb`s book of life, things are fine and let me just kick back and wait to die and enter heaven. Jesus was a Preacher first before being a miracle worker!!

Two things astonished the people who encountered Jesus of Nazareth during his time here on earth about 2000 years ago. He did things that nobody ever did and preached like nobody ever preached. Among the things that he did we have what we call miracles and all the things he taught and preached we can collectively call the Message. So if miracles and the Message are the two things that were synonymous with Jesus, the question we must ask ourselves is what is more important here. Jesus was a preacher who did miracles and not a miracle worker who sometimes preached. Now folks this is important to understand. It is his preaching/message that is important and not his miracles. His miracles are designed to point you to the man himself and what he teaches. The miracles are intended to arouse a feeling of curiosity in your mind.
